CHARLES FREDERICK WEIGLE
1871 - 1966
Some know Charles Weigle only for his most
notable song, "No One Ever Cared for
Me Like Jesus." But, his story is much
broader and deeper than a wonderful song composed
in time of great sorrow and despair. It is
a remarkable story of a man who gave himself
completely to the Lord and was used to touch
lives and change hearts. He encouraged all
who were blessed to come in contact with him
and continues to be a blessing to many through
the legacy of godly music he left behind
Charles Frederick Weigle's keen interest in
music led him to attend the Cincinnati Conservatory
of Music, where he received training that
later proved invaluable. He became both an
inspiring preacher and a gifted songwriter.
He wrote more than one
thousand Gospel songs. On December 3, 1966,
the Lord called him home after he had spent
his last fifteen years on the campus of Tennessee
Temple Schools in Chattanooga.
