Genesis 37:1-11
1. Is it any wonder the brother's were Jealous?
2. Is it any wonder they sought some form of punishment?
Genesis 37:12-36--sold into slavery, then sold to Potiphar
Do you think Joseph wondered WHY all this was
happening?
Genesis 38--Meanwhile back at the ranch
Genesis 39-40--Rape, prison, dreams
Joseph's character and the Spirit of God kept him
strong.
Genesis 41--Pharaoh's Dreams bring Joseph to power
Genesis 42:9--Then Joseph Remembered the dreams
which he had
1. Joseph thinks, "NOW I understand!"
2. Later--Genesis 45:3-5--But now, do not therefore
be grieved or angry with yourselves because you
sold me here; for God sent me before you to
preserve life.
3. Later--Genesis 50:20--you meant evil against me;
but God meant it for good, in order to bring it
about as it is this day, to save many people alive
4. So he sent them home to get their father Jacob

A. Don't Argue On The Way Because You've Argued Enough
A. That's about all they did from their youth.
B. Compare 1 Peter 4:3--For we have spent enough of
our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles-when
we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries,
drinking parties, and abominable idolatries
C. How much of our time do we spend arguing instead
of doing God's Will?
B. Don't argue because you are brothers
1. Compare the story of Abraham and Lot
"We be brethren"
2. Notice Phil. 4:2--Euodia and Syntyche
3. 1 Corinthians 6:7-8--taking brethren to court
4. Galatians 5:15--But if you bite and devour one
another, beware lest you be consumed by one
another!
C. Don't argue because you have a mission
1. to preserve life!!!
2. to save many people alive!!!
3. John 3:16
4. Luke 19:10
D. Don't argue because time is short
1. Arguing hinders us from doing what we need to do.
2. Often arguing is about foolish things anyway.
2 Timothy 2:23
3. James 4:13-17--....you do not know what will
happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even
a vapor that appears for a little time and then
vanishes away....
