Reading: Psalm 24:1-5

Prayer
Introduction:
A. Who are the Pure in Heart?
1. Those who realize the impurity of their hearts
2. Those who mourns over the impurity of their hearts
3. Those who hunger and thirst diligently for pure hearts.
B. "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."
1. A change of mind
2. A change of desires
3. A change of HEART!
C. Speaking to the Pharisees
1. He accused them of being concerned with the
outside, appearance
2. His message to them was to clean the inside
3. His message was that the heart saved or condemned.
#1 Blessed are the Pure in HEART
A. Jesus' emphasized the heart is always the seat
of our troubles
1. Matthew 15:17-20
2. Genesis 6:5 "imaginations of his heart was only
evil continually."
3. James 1:13-15--"...lured and enticed by his
own desire..."
B. Others give excuses for their troubles
1. I am the way I am because of my environment
2. I am the way I am because everyone influences
me to be this way.
3. I am the way I am because of my parents!
C. Problems come out of the HEART
1. Any problem caused by mankind is prompted by
unworthy desire
2. My troubles are at the center of my being
3. Developing intellect, repairing financial problems,
restoring health will NEVER MAKE A PERSON
PURE IN HEART.
D. What about religious people?
1. Pure in heart are giving, but "giving" may not
be pure in heart.
2. going to church, preaching, teaching, leading
prayer, singing
3. We must be elder material or older women
material (TITUS)
#2 Blessed are the PURE in Heart
A. Without Hypocrisy--(Pure Sugar 100%)
1. Singleness of Heart
2. Single-eye devotion Matthew 6:22
3. Psalm 86:11--Unite my heart to fear Your Name.
B. Being Cleansed
1. No Sin, No Blemish, No Stain.
3. Like Jesus--Perfect, Spotless, pure & entire
C. Those who see God die
1. Exodus 33:20 But," he said, "you cannot see my
face, for no one may see me and live." (NIV)
2. Does God expect me to be something I can't be?
YES!
a. That's why only the poor in spirit will inherit
the kingdom
b. Only those who mourn over their sins will be
comforted
c. Only those who thirst for Righteousness will
be filled.
3. Dead to self & Alive to Christ Romans 6:11
4. Are you willing to die to SEE GOD?
#3 For They Shall See God
A. Who wouldn't want to see God?
1. It would take away all doubts
2. All those who have longed to see him could
3. All those who wondered would fulfill their curiosity
B. Do we really want to see God? Fantasy? or True Desire?
1. How seriously do you want to play a piano or some
instrument?
2. How intensely do you want to be rich?
3. How strongly do you desire to see God?
4. All of these questions are based on the more
important question: WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO
DO ABOUT IT?
C. Only the pure in heart will see him
1. What will you do about it?
2. What sins do you need to remove to get to him?
3. Have you allowed baptism to keep you from him?
