Intro: Paul was not ashamed of the gospel - Rom 1:16 -
but can it be said concerning your life? Not that we are sinless,
but that have accepted the offer of life. They are three
reasons why someone will have cause to be ashamed of
their waste
I) Never becoming a child of God
A) God has called all - Jn 3:16; 1 Jn 2:1,2 - and doesn't
want to see any perish - 2 Pet 3:9
B) God has made evidence concerning Himself and His
Word readily available - Rom 1:19,20; Col 1:5,6
C) God welcomes everyone - Ac 10:34,35
II) Returning to a life of worldliness
A) By a weak faith:
1- to abandon the church - Heb 10:25
2- not growing in the Word - 2 Pet 3:18; 1 Cor 3:1-3;
2 Tim 2:2; Heb 5:12
3- because of evil influences - 1 Cor 15:33
B) Loving the world - 1 Jn 2:15,16 - by denial of God
- Rom 1:21-23,28; 2 Tim 2:12 - or rejection of the gospel
- Gal 1:6,7; 2 Jn 9
III) Being an unprofitable servant
A) Worthless servant - Mt 25:26,27 - disciples are to be in
God's work - Lk 2:49; Rom 6:16
B) But not helping one another - Gal 6:1,2,10; 1 Th 5:11; Jas 1:27
C) By harming one another - 1 Cor 8:9-12; Rom 14:15-21
Concl: God's will for us is not disguised - 1 Cor 6:19,20 - none
can say, "I didn't realize", will you be ashamed of what you
did with your gift? - Rom 12:6
