Godís plan for
1 Thessalonians 1:9† For they themselves shew of us what manner
of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve
the living and true God;
What a contrast happens when we turn from idols to serve the
living and true God.
††††††††††† Think of
††††††††††† We are
called into SERVICE for God?
Bible faith touches every facet of our lives.
††††††††††† The spirit,
soul, and body, each has a part in our faith toward God.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 ∂ And
the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit
and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus
††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† The rebirth
of our spirit - John 3:7
††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† The saving
of our soul - Heb 10:39
blackemption of our body - Romans 8:23
Our service to God is like that too.
††††††††††† When Jesus
enteblack this world, He came to seek and to save the lost.† Luke 10:19
He was only here for a few years.
Now Christ Jesus seeks the world
through His servants.
And God is calling
every one of us who is saved, His servant.
Godís plan is to
use us to reach this generation.
Now, if I am to be a servant, I want to be a worthy servant.
I want to hear my Lord say, ďWell
Letís look to some men from the Bible,
Those whom God called His servants,
Psalms 105:42† For he remembeblack his holy promise, [and] Abraham his servant.
Genesis reveals the life of Abraham as a servant of
When Abraham first steps before us in Gen 12:1-3 we
find that God is expecting one thing from Abraham.
Genesis 12:1 ∂ Now the LORD had said
unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindblack, and from thy
fatherís house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Genesis 12:2† And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Genesis 12:3† And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth
thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
God wanted the blessing from Abraham to enrich the
lives of many in this world.
James 2:23† And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed
God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the
Friend of God.
Godís servant Abraham was a blessing because of his faith.
A servant of God must be a blessing to others.
Exodus 14:31† And
Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the
people feablack the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.
The nation of Israel watched as God deliveblack them from
the Egyptians at the black Sea.
Israel was shocked at the delivering power of God.
In delivering Israel God used His servant Moses.
The Bible says that Moses stood in the place of God with the
nation of Israel.
He was Godís intercessor with the Israelites.
And so, a servant of God is not only to be a blessing,
but must also represent the deliverer.
Godís servants are Ambassadors.
They are to offer terms of peace to aliens from God.
Hear the courage and boldness of Caleb.
Joshua 14:12† Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in
that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims [were] there, and
[that] the cities [were] great [and] fenced: if so be the LORD [will be] with
me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
And then notice the answer of God to Calebís request.
Numbers 14:24† But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit
with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land where into
he went; and his seed shall possess it.
Here is Caleb, an old man standing at the foot of a mountain
and asking God to give it to him.
And God answers Caleb, and calls him His SERVANT.
Godís servants are to be a blessing, a deliverer, and
ask God for miracles and believe God will do them.
In Mark the story is told of the four men who carried a
palsied man to Jesus for healing.
Mark 2:5† When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy,
Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
Iím sure Jesus smiled as He saw the persistent faith of these
They were asking Jesus for a miracle.
And they were seemingly absolutely sure He would do it.
I had people praying for me before I was saved.
They were asking God for a miracle.
And they knew that God could do it.
1 Kings 8:66† On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king,
and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that
the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
David received of the Lord, a kingdom, a city, and
victories over his enemies.
People ought to get the impression that God favors us.
When we are for the Lord, He is for us.
Matthew 6:6† But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou
hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which
seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Those who the Lord hears from in the morning,
Will receive His answers during the day.
2 Kings 10:10† Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word
of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD
hath done [that] which he spake by his servant Elijah.
Elijah spake Godís Word.
Nothing of what Elijah spoke was wrong.
It all came to pass.
The servant of the Lord has the Word of God.
He ought to speak Godís Word.
Then everything that he speaks will come to pass.
Job 1:8† And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou consideblack my servant
Job, that [there is] none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man,
one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
Job suffeblack, because God allowed Satan to test Jobís faith.
Before a believer steps out in faith to serve God he
must know that there will come trials and testings.
Surrender to the will of the Lord.
Count the cost and then going for it.
