Peace in a life of Integrity
2:3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast
thou consideblack my servant Job, that [there is] none like him in the earth, a
perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still
he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy
him without cause.
Character and integrity are
basically the same.
pleased God that Job kept his integrity though tried by Satan.
Those in my life who have been the greatest beacon to me,
are those who have held fast to their INTEGRITY.
The greatest battle going on in this world is the battle
for your mind. When a person has no discipline over what goes into his mind, he
becomes a city without walls.
that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and
without walls" (Prov. 25:28).
is free to enter or leave. There is no
have walls around the mind.
walls are found in Philippians 4:8
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be
any praise, think on these things.
think about, you become . . .
man thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7).
When you allow yourself to think about things that can not
be characterized by the words above, you become like your thoughts.
thoughts unloving, irreverent, displeasing, etc . . .?
May God give you the grace to
build walls around your mind that will give you INTEGRITY.

a man who has direction for today, purpose for tomorrow and a heritage for the
In Proverbs we find three occurrences of the word integrity:
answers the need of direction:
Proverbs 11:3 ¶ The integrity of the upright shall guide them:
but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
of temptation come often.
8:13 They on the rock [are they],
which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which
for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
faithless has no answer for temptations.
our faith builds integrity.
Corinthians 10:13 There hath no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who
will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].
need to bear-up under the load of temptations.
will provide a way out.
will strengthen us.
need to commit our ways unto the Lord.
walk at work.
walk in our home.
walk in our community.
need to trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not unto our own
understanding, and He shall direct our paths.
the Integrity which we have from the Lord will guide us.
answers the need of purpose:
Proverbs 19:1 ¶ Better [is] the poor that walketh in
his integrity, than [he that is] perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
purpose that is greater than wealth.
see happier people in our Christian fellowship suppers, than at any rich man’s
is not a purpose for the Christian.
LOVE of money is the root of all evil - the Bible says.
purpose greater than popularity.
seek the approval of the world.
empty are the lives of those whose purpose is fame.
purpose greater than selfish gain. Some religion is a
cloak for selfishness.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves . .
. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. 2 Tim 3:1f
- character gives something to live for.
III. Integrity answers the need of
Proverbs 20:7 The
just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
comes to the one whose family is safe.
comes to the one whose treasures are laid up in heaven.
thieves cannot break through and steal; rust doesn’t corrupt, moths...
comes to the one whose future is secure.
8:28 And we know that all things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according
to [his] purpose.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
